Gold/Rose Gold Vermeil (pronounced ver-MAY) is genuine .925 sterling silver base metal that has been expertly plated with a thick layer (1 microns) of 14K Gold. Gold Vermeil is far more durable than other Gold plated options and can last for over years when properly stored in an airtight plastic bag. However, if worn continuously (especially rings) the Gold can start to wear away after six months.
