How To Wear Flat Back Studs

There are two type of flat back closures—push-pin (threadless) styles that snap into place with gentle pressure, and screw-back (internally threaded) styles that twist together for a secure hold.

PUSH-PIN FLAT BACKS

1. First separate the pieces. You will see that the post is pre-bent. This creates spring tension to secure the top into place inside the post.

2. Then from behind your ear, guide the flat back through your piercing to the front.

3. Thread the pin into the from the backing from the front and slide in.

4. Gently squeeze the 2 pieces together until they are secure and comfortable.

SCREW-ON FLAT BACKS

Screw-back flat backs are just like push-pin styles in comfort and fit, but instead of snapping into place, they twist together for a secure hold. You’ll have a flat back post and the front piece that screws into it.

1. Insert flat back from the back of your piercing.
